3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY
4 FOR AND UTILIZE FEDERAL-AID RECREATION TRAILS FUNDS FOR
5 THE RECREATIONAL TRAILS PROGRAM AND TRANSPORTATION
6 ALTERNATIVES PROGRAM (TAP) GRANTS AT THE LITTLE ROCK
7 ZOO; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock understand Federal-Aid Recreational Trails Funds are available
10 at 80%Federal participation and 20% local match/in-kind labor to develop or improve the Little Rock Zoo
11 trails,and,
12 WHEREAS,the City of Little Rock understands that Federal-Aid Funds are available for this project
13 on a reimbursable basis,requiring work to be accomplished and proof of payment prior to actual monetary
14 reimbursement,and,
15 WHEREAS, the Governor's Commission on People with Disabilities recommends that the City of
16 Little Rock apply for this grant funding to improve the paths at the Little Rock Zoo.
17 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
18 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
19 Section 1. the City Manager, on behalf of the City of Little Rock, will participate in accordance with
20 its designated responsibility, including maintenance of this project.
21 Section 2. the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute all appropriate agreements
22 and contracts necessary to expedite the construction of the above stated project.
23 Section 3. the City of Little Rock pledges its full support and herby authorizes the Arkansas Highway
24 and Transportation Department to initiate action to implement this project.
25 Section 5. This resolution will be in full force and effect from and after the date of its adoption.
