3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO
4 PURCHASE 2016 LITTLE ROCK MARATHON PARTICIPANT AND
5 VOLUNTEER SHIRTS FROM BLUFF CITY SPORTS, IN THE AMOUNT
6 OF EIGHTY-ONE THOUSAND, SIXTY-SEVEN AND 22/100 DOLLARS
7 ($81,067.22); AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS,the 14«'annual Little Rock Marathon will be held March 4-6,2016; and,
10 WHEREAS, an estimated 14,000 participants, 3,500 volunteers and 30,000 spectators from all fifty
11 (50) States and over thirty(30)countries are expected to visit Little Rock for the event; and,
12 WHEREAS, as part of their registration, participants and volunteers receive a shirt to commemorate
13 their participation in the 2016 event; and,
14 WHEREAS, the City issued Public Bid No. 15177 to solicit and obtain competitive bids from screen
15 printing companies with experience in printing shirts for a large public event in order to obtain the best
16 price; and,
17 WHEREAS, four (4) companies submitted qualifications and bids, a selection committee reviewed
18 the qualifications and determined that two (2) of the four(4) companies, Trivia Marketing and Bluff City
19 Sports,were responsible and responsive bidders; and,
20 WHEREAS,the City's Purchasing Department reviewed all the bid pricing and determined that Bluff
- 21 City Sports submitted the lowest bid in the amount of Eighty-One Thousand, Sixty-Seven and 22/100
22 Dollars($81, 067.22);
23 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
24 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
25 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into a contract with
26 Bluff City Sports for the purchase of 2016 Little Rock Marathon Participants and Volunteer
27 Commemorative Marathon Shirts,in the amount of Eighty-One Thousand, Sixty-Seven and 22/100 Dollars
28 ($81,067.22).
29 Section 2. Funds for this purchase are available in the Little Rock Marathon special project account.
30 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
31 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
32 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
33 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
34 resolution.

1 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
2 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
