3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH LANDSCAPE STRUCTURES, INC., IN THE
5 TOTAL AMOUNT OF EIGHTY-FOUR THOUSAND, TWO HUNDRED
6 NINETY-ONE AND 42/100 DOLLARS ($84,291.42) FOR A NEW
7 PLAYGROUND AT BRODIE CREEK PARK, PURSUANT TO
8 ARKANSAS STATE PURCHASING CONTRACT, AND FOR OTHER
9 PURPOSES.

11 WHEREAS, Pecan Lake Neighborhood Association and other area residents have expressed a desire
12 to see an improvement in Brodie Creek Park; and,
13 WHEREAS, with City Staff and the Association working together, a new playground was agreed
14 upon as the appropriate improvement for the park; and,
15 WHEREAS,the playground is a strongly supported and much needed component of the plan; and,
16 WHEREAS, Parks & Recreation Staff selected Landscape Structures, Inc., SP-15-1052, to design
17 and build a new playground for Brodie Creek Park;
18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
19 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
20 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into a contract with
21 Landscape Structures, Inc., to design and build a new playground for the Brodie Creek Park, in the total
22 amount of Eighty-Four Thousand, Two Hundred Ninety-One and 42/100 Dollars ($84,291.42), utilizing
23 the Arkansas State Contract#SP-15-0152.
24 Section 2. Funds for this purchase are available from the 3/8-Cent Capital portion of the 2011 One-
25 Cent Sales Tax allocated for Parks Capital Upgrades.
26 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
27 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
28 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
29 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
30 resolution.
31 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent
32 with the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
