2199 j ,a1 ORDINANCE NO. 2 1 9 9 II AN ORDINANCE FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF MOUNT HOLLY CEMETERY. 1,1 a I �I . WHEREAS, the title to Mount Holly Cemetery is vested in the City of Little Rook, j-! whioh was given to various persons the right of interment therein, subject to such regu- ii _ lotions as the City may make; and i= WHEREAS, said Cemetery has heretofore been kept up by the sale of the right tot i; interment and the voluntary oontributions of the families of those interred, but.said re-' souroes are now inadequate for proper maintenance of said Cemetery. 11 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK: 1;, Seotion 1. There is hereby levied upon each lot in said Mount Holly Cemetery, anl•I i- annual charge of $2 for the maintenance of said Cemetery. Said sum must be paid between j= - the first day of August and the first day of Deoember, of eaoh year, If said oharge is � , i- not paid by the first day of December of each year, a penalty of one dollar per lot, L shall be added thereto, and a like penalty of one dollar per lot shall be added for each 1=1 1 _ year that said oharge shall remain unpaid. � Seotion 2. The said charge shall be collected by the City Colleotor, who shall L i- notify, by mail, the living relatives of the persons interred in such lots, so far as hill' ,- can ascertain their identity and whereabouts;. but a failure of such relatives to receive(_ notice, shall not affect the accrual of the penalties herein provided for. 1- Section 3, If any such oharge shall remain unpaid for three years, the city nl. 48 collector shall notify the authorities in charge of said Cemetery of that fact; and there!'. I'-:1 upon said authorities shall have the right to grant to other parties the privilege of • !_ i- interment in such delinquent lots, subject to the condition that the graves and the mon- I_I ij - uments therein shall not be disturbed. I+j Section 4. The care of said Cemetery, the employment of sexton and assistants, I,i i' - and the granting of privileges of interment is hereby vested in the Mount Holly Cemetery! .! - j I Assooiation,subjeot only to the superintending control of this council and of the proper[, ! iofficers of the city. When the Treasurer of said Association has given a bond satis- ij ' 1 factory to the mayor, whioh shall be approved by the mayor and filed with the city olerk,j.
