RESOLUTION NO. 11,933
3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO
4 PURCHASE DESKTOP AND LAPTOP COMPUTERS FOR THE
5 POLICE DEPARTMENT THROUGH THE ARKANSAS STATE
6 COOPERATIVE PURCHASE CONTRACT; AND FOR OTHER
7 PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS, it is periodically necessary for the City to purchase equipment for
10 various departments, and to either make these purchases from the state purchase
11 contract pursuant to Ark. Code Ann. § 19 -11 -249 (Michie Repl. 1998), or to advertise for
12 competitive bids and award a contract to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder,
13 and
14 WHEREAS, the Police Department Special Investigations Division needs to
15 replace twenty (20) desktop and eighteen (18) laptop computers which are worn,
16 outdated and difficult to maintain, and
17 WHEREAS, the City has decided that it is in its best interest to purchase the
18 requested computers from Gateway through the Arkansas State Cooperative
19 Purchasing Contract, at a cost of Ninety Thousand, One Hundred Seventy -nine and
20 76/100 ($90,179.00) Dollars; and
21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
22 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
23 SECTION 1: The City Manager is hereby authorized to purchase twenty (20)
24 desktop and eighteen (18) laptop computers for the Police Department Special
25 Investigations Division, for the amount of Ninety Thousand, One Hundred Seventy -
26 nine and 76/100 Dollars ($90,179.00) through the State Cooperative Purchasing Contract.

Section 2. Funds for these purchases are available from the Police
Department's 2003 Local Law Enforcement Block Grant (70- 350 - X047).
Section 3. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that
are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent
of such inconsistency.
Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence,
clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or
unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining
portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so
declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
resolution.
