3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO
4 PURCHASE THE 2016 LITTLE ROCK MARATHON FINISHER'S
5 MEDALS FROM HASTY AWARDS, IN THE AMOUNT OF FIFTY-SIX
6 THOUSAND, SIX HUNDRED NINETEEN AND 50/100 DOLLARS
7 ($56,619.50); AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS,the 14th annual Little Rock Marathon will be held March 4-6, 2016; and,
10 WHEREAS, an estimated 13,000 participants, 3,000 volunteers and 30,000 spectators from all fifty
11 (50) States and thirty(30)-plus countries are expected to visit Little Rock for the event; and,
12 WHEREAS, as part of the registration, finishers of the marathon, half marathon, 10K, 5K and Kids
13 race will receive a Finisher's Medal upon completion of their event; and
14 WHEREAS,the City issued Public Bid No. 15153 to solicit and obtain competitive bids from qualified
15 trophy companies, and of the five (5) companies submitting bids, it was determined that Hasty Awards
16 submitted the lowest responsive and responsible bid, in the amount of Fifty-Six Thousand, Six Hundred
17 Nineteen and 50/100 Dollars($56,619.50).
18 NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
19 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
20 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into a contract with
21 Hasty Awards for the purchase of 2016 Little Rock Marathon Finisher's Medals in the amount of Fifty-Six
22 Thousand, Six Hundred Nineteen and 50/100 Dollars($56,619.50).
23 Section 2. Funds for this purchase are available in the Little Rock Marathon Special Project Account
24 #210-459-S00B268.
25 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
26 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
27 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
28 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
29 resolution.
30 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances,resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
31 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
