3 A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT WITH
4 MOSER CONSTRUCTION TO REMODEL THE JOSEPHINE PANKEY
5 COMMUNITY CENTER AT 13700 CANTRELL ROAD TO
6 ACCOMMODATE A POLICE PRESENCE IN THE AREA; AND FOR
7 OTHER PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Police Department requests sts a royal to enter into a construction
P 9 approval
10 contract with Moser Construction to remodel the Josephine Pankey Community Center located at 13700
11 Cantrell Road to accommodate a Police presence for the area; and,
12 WHEREAS, bids were received from four (4) bidders and Moser Construction was the low bidder
13 approved by the architectural firm supervising the project; and,
14 WHEREAS, the cost of the construction/remodeling contract is One Million, Two Hundred Sixty-
15 Six Thousand,Nine Hundred Eighty-Two and 09/100 Dollars ($1,266,982.09), plus a 5% contingency of
16 Sixty-Three Thousand,Three Hundred Forty-Nine and 10/100 Dollars($63,349.10).
17 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
18 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
19 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a construction contract with Moser
20 Construction in the amount of One Million, Two Hundred Sixty-Six Thousand, Nine Hundred Eighty-
21 Two and 09/100 Dollars ($1,266,982.09), plus a 5% contingency of Sixty-Three Thousand, Three
22 Hundred Forty-Nine rty ne and 10/100 Dollars ($63,349.10), for a total amount not to exceed One
Million,
23 Three Hundred ThirtyThousand, Thirty-One Three Hundred Thirty One and 19/100 Dollars ($1,330,331.19), to
24 remodel the Josephine Pankey Community Center located at 13700 Cantrell.
25 Section 2. Funding will come from the West Little Rock Police Renovation Project of Nine
26 Hundred Sixty-Eight Thousand, Five Hundred Seventy-Nine and 64/100 Dollars ($968,579.64); 911/311
27 Project Account of Two Hundred Eighty-Eight Thousand, Five Hundred Fifty-Nine and 56/100
28 ($288,559.56)and Fleet Services contribution of Seventy-Three Thousand, One Hundred Ninety-One and
29 99/100 Dollars ($73,191.99).
30 Section 2. Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are
31 inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
32 Section 5. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
33 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or

1 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
2 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
3 resolution.
