21043 1 ORDINANCE NO. 21,043 2 3 AN ORDINANCE TO AUTHORIZE THE PURCHASE OF CERTAIN 4 EQUIPMENT FOR THE LITTLE ROCK POLICE DEPARTMENT; TO 5 DISPENSE WITH THE REQUIREMENT OF COMPETITIVE BIDS; AND 6 FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 7 8 WHEREAS, an inventory of equipment for the Little Rock Police Department has established that 9 there is an immediate need to provide certain equipment for the Department, and to assure that there is 10 adequate equipment for the Department to fulfill all of its various roles and responsibilities;and, 11 WHEREAS,the need to assure that such equipment is in the inventory as soon as possible is apparent, 12 and Cruse Uniforms & Equipment, Inc., of Little Rock, Arkansas, which typically supplies this type of 13 equipment,and other uniforms and equipment,to the Department, is able to meet this time frame; 14 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 15 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 16 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreement with Cruse Uniforms and 17 Equipment, Inc., of Little Rock, Arkansas, for the purchase of Three Hundred Forty Thousand, Three 18 Hundred Seventy-Nine and 75/100 Dollars ($340,379.75) in specialty equipment identified as needed 19 immediately by the Little Rock Police Department. 20 Section 2. Because the City Manager and the Chief of Police have identified the immediate need for 21 this equipment, it is determined that it would be impractical and unfeasible to subject this purchase to 22 competitive bids, so the use of Cruse Uniforms and Equipment,Inc.,without such bidding is permitted. 23 Section 3. One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00) of the funds for this purchase shall come 24 from the Seized Asset Fund, and the balance shall come from the General Fund. 25 Section 4. Repealer. All laws,ordinances,resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with 26 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency. 27 Section 5. Severability.
