3 A RESOLUTION TO EXPRESS THE WILLINGNESS OF THE CITY OF
4 LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, IN COOPERATION WITH THE MAC
5 PARK GROUP, TO EXECUTE AGREEMENTS WITH THE ARKANSAS
6 HIGHWAY AND TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT TO UTILITIZE
7 GRANT FUNDS FOR WORK AROUND MACARTHUR PARK AND
8 SURROUNDING NEIGHBORHOODS TO PROVIDE SAFE ROUTES TO
9 SCHOOLS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

11 WHEREAS, Federal Funds in the amount of Seventy-Six Thousand, Three Hundred Dollars
12 ($76,300.00) are available to fund sidewalk improvements around MacArthur Park and surrounding
13 neighborhoods to provide safe routes to schools; and,
14 WHEREAS,the City can participate in the use of these funds through an agreement with the Arkansas
15 Highway&Transportation Department;
16 NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
17 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
18 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized and directed to execute all necessary documents,
19 agreements, and contracts with the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department to utilize Federal
20 grant monies to improve, construct, and provide safe routes to schools in the area of MacArthur Park as
21 developed through a cooperative project with MacPark Group.
22 Section 2. The City pledges its full support to this project and authorizes the Arkansas Highway and
23 Transportation Department to initiate action to implement this project.
24 Section 3. The matching funds required from the City for this project are anticipated to be Twenty
25 Thousand,Twenty-Nine Dollars($29,029.00)and are available in the Grant Match Account.
26 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
27 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
28 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
29 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
30 resolution.
31 Section 5. Repealer. All laws, ordinances,resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
32 the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
