3 A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE WILLINGNESS OF THE CITY OF
4 LITTLE ROCK TO UTILIZE FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT
5 AID FUNDS FOR FLOOD STUDIES OF SELECTED STREAM REACHES
6 WITHIN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS; AND FOR OTHER
7 PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has recently offered to the City
10 of Little Rock grant assistance to study selected streams in the City with the purpose of preparing new
11 flood risk maps in partnership with the Arkansas Cooperating Technical Partnership Program (ARCTP)
12 along Rock Creek,Grassy Flat North,Colony West and State Capitol Drain,and
13 WHEREAS, it is desirable to secure funding and enter into agreements for these studies and flood
14 map updates as a benefit to all citizens as a guide in purchasing property and participating in the flood
15 insurance program.
16 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
17 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
18 SECTION 1. The City pledges its full support for the project and the City Manager is hereby
19 authorized to execute all appropriate grant agreements and contracts necessary to expedite this project.
20 SECTION 2. Funding for the project is from the 3/8-Cent Capital Improvement Sales and
21 Compensating Use Tax. The estimated total cost of the project is Two Hundred Ninety-Three Thousand,
22 One Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($293,150.00), of which the City share will be 25% of the total project
23 cost which is Seventy-Three Thousand,Two Hundred Eighty Seven Dollars($73,287.00).
24 SECTION 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase,
25 or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
26 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
27 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
28 resolution.
29 SECTION 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent
30 with the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
31 SECTION 5. This resolution will be in full force and effect from and after the date of its adoption.
