3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH BLUE WATER POOLS, IN THE AMOUNT
5 OF SEVENTY THOUSAND, NINE HUNDRED SIXTY DOLLARS
6 ($70,960.00) FOR REPLACING THE SAND FILTERS AND INSTALLING
7 AN ACUTROL CHLORINE FEEDER AT THE JIM DAILEY FITNESS
8 AND AQUATIC CENTER; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS,the Jim Dailey Fitness and Aquatic Center is a very popular venue that operates one(1)
11 large outdoor poor and one(1)small outdoor kiddie pool during the late spring and summer months; and,
12 WHEREAS, the current filtration system is at least twenty-five (25) years old and needs to be
13 replaced by a new and more efficient system; and,
14 WHEREAS, in order to obtain the best system, staff has consulted with the Arkansas State Health
15 Department and other pool experts;and
16 WHEREAS, Bid #15117 was issued and Blue Water Pools submitted the lowest responsible and
17 responsive bid, in the amount of Seventy Thousand,Nine Hundred Sixty Dollars($70,960.00);
18 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
19 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
20 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to award a bid to Blue Water
21 Pools for the replacement of the sand filters and installing an acutrol chlorine feeder at the Jim Dailey
22 Fitness and Aquatic Center, in the amount of Seventy Thousand, Nine Hundred Sixty Dollars
23 ($70,960.00).
24 Section 2. Funding for this purchase is available through the 2015 Facility Improvements Fund
25 Account#108409-S40A434.
26 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
27 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
28 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
29 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
30 resolution.
31 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent
32 with the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
