14050 1 RESOLUTION NO. 14,050 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO 4 PURCHASE 2015 LITTLE ROCK MARATHON PARTICIPANT AND 5 VOLUNTEER SHIRTS FROM BLUFF CITY SPORTS, IN THE AMOUNT 6 OF SEVENTY-FOUR THOUSAND, ONE HUNDRED EIGHTEEN AND 7 20/100 DOLLARS ($74,118.20); AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 8 9 WHEREAS, the 13th Annual Little Rock Marathon will be held on February 27, 2015 — March 1, 10 2015 and an estimated 14,000 participants, 3,500 volunteers and approximately 30,000 spectators will 11 converge on Little Rock from all fifty(50) States and over thirty(30)Countries around the world; and, 12 WHEREAS, as part of the registration, participants and/or volunteers will receive a shirt to 13 commemorate their participation in the 2015 event; and, 14 WHEREAS, the City issued Bid #14172R to solicit and obtain competitive bids from qualified 15 screen printing companies with experience in printing marathon and/or half marathon shirts in order to 16 obtain the best price and eight(8)companies submitted qualifications and bids; and 17 WHEREAS, after review of all packets submitted, the Selection Committee determined only one (1) 18 of the eight (8) companies to be a qualified bidder, which was Bluff City Sports with a bid of Seventy- 19 Four Thousand, One Hundred Eighteen and 20/100 Dollars($74,118.20); and, 20 WHEREAS, staff recommends that the bid to purchase the 2015 participant and volunteer shirts be 21 awarded to Bluff City Sports, in the amount of Seventy-Four Thousand, One Hundred Eighteen and 22 20/100 Dollars($74,118.20); 23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 24 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 25 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into a contract with 26 Bluff City Sports for the purchase of 2015 Little Rock Marathon participant and volunteer shirts from 27 Bluff City Sports, in the amount of Seventy-Four Thousand, One Hundred Eighteen and 20/100 Dollars 28 ($74,118.20). 29 Section 2. Funding is available from the Little Rock Marathon Special Project Account #210-459- 30 S00B268. 31 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 32 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 33 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and [Page 1 of 21 1 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 2 resolution. 3 Section 4. Repealer.
