3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO AWARD
4 A CONTRACT TO GENE SUMMERS CONSTRUCTION, INC., IN THE
5 AMOUNT OF SIX HUNDRED TWENTY-TWO THOUSAND, ONE
6 HUNDRED NINETY-SIX AND 40/100 DOLLARS ($622,196.40), FOR
7 WOODSON ROAD IMPROVEMENTS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

9 WHEREAS, Bids were solicited for Project No. 13-2-28, Woodson Road Improvements, Bid 14-
10 190; and,
11 WHEREAS, Gene Summers Construction, Inc., was the lowest responsive, responsible bid meeting
12 specifications.
13 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
14 LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
15 SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Gene Summers
16 Construction, Inc. for Woodson Road Improvements in the amount of Six Hundred Twenty-Two
17 Thousand, One Hundred Ninety-Six and 40/100 Dollars ($622,196.40), which is the base bid amount of
18 Five Hundred Eighteen Thousand, Four Hundred Ninety-Seven Dollars ($518,497.00), plus 20%
19 contingencies.
20 SECTION 2. Funding for this project is from the 3/s-Cent Capital Improvement Sales and
21 Compensating Use Tax as authorized by Resolution No. 13,699.
22 SECTION 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase,
23 or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
24 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
25 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
26 resolution.
27 SECTION 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent
28 with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
29 SECTION 5. This resolution will be in full force and effect from and after the date of its adoption.
