3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO AWARD
4 A CONTRACT TO GENE SUMMERS CONSTRUCTION, INC., IN THE
5 AMOUNT OF $467,107.20, FOR THE SHERRILL ROAD STREET &
6 DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT; AND FOR OTHER
7 PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS, Bids were solicited for Project 13-C-010, Sherrill Road Street & Drain, Bid #14-165;
10 and,
11 WHEREAS, Gene Summers Construction, Inc., was the lowest responsive, responsible bid meeting
12 specifications;
13 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
14 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
15 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement for Gene Summers
16 Construction, Inc., for the Sherrill Road Street & Drainage Improvement Project in the amount of Four
17 Hundred Sixty-Seven Thousand, One Hundred Seven and 20/100 Dollars ($467,107.20), which is the
18 base bid amount of Three Hundred Eighty-Nine Thousand, Two Hundred Fifty-Six Dollars
19 ($389,256.00), plus 20% contingencies.
20 Section 2. Funding for this project was authorized by Resolution No. 13,699 and is available from
21 the 3/8-Cent Capital Improvement Sales and Use Tax Fund.
22 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
23 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
24 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
25 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
26 resolution.
27 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent with
28 the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
29 Section 5. This resolution will be in full force and effect from and after the date of its adoption.
