3 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 9 OF THE CODE OF
4 ORDINANCES TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF BOARD MEMBERS
5 OF THE OAKLAND & FRATERNAL HISTORIC CEMETERY PARK
6 BOARD; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, the Oakland & Fraternal Historic Cemetery Park Board wishes to broaden its ability to
9 emphasize and promote the unique character of the cemetery park, its beautiful setting, and its rich history
10 and to better enable it to raise funds and obtain grants; and,
11 WHEREAS, there are citizens wanting to serve on the Oakland & Fraternal Historic Cemetery Park
12 Board for the benefit of the cemetery park; and,
13 WHEREAS,the Cemetery Board voted at its last meeting to recommend to the Board of Directors an
14 increase in the board's membership by two(2) members; and,
15 WHEREAS, the City now finds it necessary and desirable to make the recommended change to the
16 Oakland&Fraternal Historic Cemetery Park Board membership;
17 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
18 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
19 Section 1. Section 9-97 of Division 2, Article II of Chapter 9 of the City of Little Rock Code of
20 Ordinances is hereby amended to change the number of members of the Oakland & Fraternal Historic
21 Cemetery Park Board from nine(9) members to eleven (11) members.
22 Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
23 word of this ordinance is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
24 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the ordinance, which shall remain in full force and
25 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
26 ordinance.
27 Section 3. Repealer. All ordinances or resolutions of the City in conflict herewith are hereby
28 repealed to the extent of such conflict.
