3 A RESOLUTION TO APPOINT FRIDAY, ELDREDGE & CLARK AS
4 LEGAL COUNSEL FOR THE PROPOSED 2014 SHORT-TERM
5 FINANCING NOTE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

7 WHEREAS,it is necessary to have legal counsel to work with the City to perform legal services related
8 to the short-term financing of fire vehicles and equipment, information technology, and the final phase of
9 the 12th Street Station; and,
10 WHEREAS,the City requested proposals from qualified firms to handle this work; and
11 WHEREAS,the proposals were reviewed by a selection committee designated in accordance with City
12 ordinance; and
13 WHEREAS,the committee has reviewed the competitive qualification proposals of seven(7)law firms
14 and determined that Friday, Eldredge& Clark is the most qualified to assist with the issuance of this debt,
15 and to fulfill other obligations of the City;
16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
17 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
18 Section 1: The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with Friday, Eldredge&
19 Clark to act as legal counsel for the issuance of 2014 Short-Term Financing.
20 Section 2: Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
21 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
22 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
23 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
24 ordinance.
25 Section 3: Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, which are inconsistent
26 with the provisions of this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
