13872 1 RESOLUTION NO. 13,872 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE AN INCREASE TO THE CONTRACT 4 AMOUNT FOR MELCHOR CONSTRUCTION FOR THE PULASKI 5 HEIGHTS ELEMENTARY SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL (2013) 6 ARKANSAS HIGHWAY AND TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT JOB 7 NO. 061366 SIDEWALKS IMPROVEMENTS; AND FOR OTHER 8 PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS, the Pulaski Heights Elementary Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and the Arkansas 11 Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) requested the City of Little Rock sponsor design and 12 construction for their Safe Route to School Grant for sidewalk improvements; and, 13 WHEREAS, bids were solicited under Bid No. 12-295 and Melchor Construction, Inc., was awarded 14 a contract authorized by Resolution No. 13,758; and, 15 WHEREAS, the Pulaski Heights Elementary PTA has requested and AHTD has authorized funding 16 for additional sidewalk for the project; 17 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 18 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 19 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a change order with Melchor 20 Construction, Inc., for the Pulaski Heights Elementary Safe Routes to School (2013) AHTD Job No. 21 061366 Sidewalks Improvements in the amount of Sixteen Thousand, Five Hundred Seventy-Three 22 Dollars ($16,573.00) for a new maximum contract amount of Eighty-Seven Thousand Dollars 23 ($87,000.00). 24 Section 2. Funding for this project is available from AHTD Safe Routes to School Grant Funds 25 (100%). 26 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 27 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 28 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 29 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 30 resolution. 31 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent 32 with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency. 33 Section 5. This resolution will be in full force and effect from and after the date of its adoption.
