RESOLUTION NO. 3,426
A RESOLUTION APPROVING A NONDISCRIM-
INATION ASSURANCE WITH REGARD TO TITLE
VI OF THE CIVIL RIGHTS ACT OF 1964 FOR
GILLAM PARK. FACILITIES; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the Little Rock Housing Authority has
claimed as non-cash grants-in-aid the cost of certain park
facilities within Gillam Park; and,
WHEREAS, these grants-in-aid are used to help
finance certain urban renewal projects in the City; and,
WHEREAS, federal regulations require that the
Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas,
adopt a Nondiscrimination Assurance in regard to those
park facilities being claimed as grants-in-aid by the
Little :lock Housing Authority;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROC':, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas
recognizes that Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964
and the regulations and policies of the Housing and Home
Finance Agency effectuating the title prohibit discrimina-
tion on the ground of race, color or national origin in
the policies and practices of any public facility, educa-
tional institution or hospital responsible for proposed
credit to the locality ' s share of the costs of an urban
renewal project receiving financial assistance from the
United States. The City of Little "lock, Arkansas hereby
assures the United States and the Housing and Home :finance
Administrator that the Gillam Park Facilities, to be claimed
as a non-cash grant-in-aid, will be available to and serve
all persons without regard to race, color or national ori-
gin.

SECTION 2. This Resolution shall be in full
force and effect from and after its adoption.
