3408 RESOLUTION NO 3 ,408 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF BRANTON CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF AN EQUIPMENT SHED FOR THE SANITATION DEPARTMENT IN THE SUM OF NINE THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED EIGHTY-TWO AND NO/100 DOLLARS; AUTH- ORIZING A CONTRACT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, invitation to bid was duly advertised according to law and bids were received pursuant thereto; and, WHEREAS, the lowest responsible and responsive bid was the bid of Branton Construction Company in the sum of Nine Thousand Nine Hundred Eighty-Two and no/100 Dollars ($9,982.00) ; and, WHEREAS, it is the desire of the of the Board of Directors to accept the said bid of Branton Construction and to award a contract. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The bid of Branton Construction Company in the sum of Nine Thousand Nine Hundred Eighty-Two and no/100 Dollars ($9,982.00) for the construction of an equip- ment shed for the Sanitation Department according to plans and specifications on file in the Department of Public Works and in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Little Rock is hereby accepted. SECTION 2. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute for and in behalf of the City of Little Rock, a contract for the work, which contract shall be in form and substance as follows: C O N T R A C T This contract and agreement mods and entered into this day of October, 1965, by and between the City of Little aock, Arkansas, hereinafter called owner, and Brenton Covstructian company, hereinafter called Contrac- tor, WITNLSSBTH: That for and in consideration of the payment to be made as hereinafter set forth, the Contractor agrees to furnish all tools, labor, eguipmeat and materials and to build and construct, in exact accord with the plans and specifications on file Ls the office of the Direeter of Public Works and in the office of the City Clark of the City of Little Rock designated as "Xquipment Shed for Sanitation Department", all of which is incorporated herein by reference as though made a part hereof, under the direction and supervision sad to the entire satis- faction of the Director of Public Works of the City of Little Rock. Contractor shall receive, uponrcompletion and acceptance of the work, the sun of line Thousand twine Hundred Eighty-Two and no/100 Dollars ($9,982.00). .on- tractor will begin work within tee, (13) eays from the work order and shall complete the work within thirty (30) calendar days. Before commemeing work, Contractor shall show to the satisfaction of the Director of Public Works of the City of Little Liock that Contractor has com- plied with bondina and insurance requires tints contained in the apecification8 and shall otherwise comply with the specifications in the pursuit and conduct of the work. Liquidated damages, if any, contained in the specifice- tiams shall be applicable as though set forth in the body of this contract.
