3146 RESOLUTION NO. 3 146 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, TO UNDERTAKE CERTAIN ADDITIONAL WORK AT AND ABOUT THE HIGH STREET URBAN RENEWAL PROJECT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES . WHEREAS, it has been determined that in order to realize the greatest benefits from the High Street Urban Renewal Project, now near completion, and in order to provide substantial benefits to the public generally within the City of Little Rock, Arkansas , that certain additional improvements not heretofore authorized are necessary; and WHEREAS , all of said improvements involve work outside the boundaries of the said High Street Urban Renewal Project; and WHEREAS , the said work can be planned and completed through the facilities of the Housing Authority of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, with the City of Little Rock contributing its pro rata share for the cost thereof ; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS : SECTION 1. The Housing Authority of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, is hereby authorized to undertake improvements outside of the High Street Urban Renewal Project and to plan, advertise and take bids for the accomplishment of the relocation of the Wright Avenue Bypass from the intersection of Wright Avenue and Cross Street to a point on the Eastern boundary of the High Street Urban Renewal Project and to undertake such storm drainage work outside the boundaries of the High Street Urban Renewal Project as shall be reasonably necessary to provide adequate drainage for the High Street Urban Renewal Project Area and all areas adjacent and contiguous thereto as may reasonably be served thereby, and to further improve certain streets bounding the said High Street Urban Renewal Project as to width, curb and gutter, storm drainage and other related improvements as follows: 14th Street between State and Gaines Streets ; Chester Street between 15th & 16th Streets ; 11th Street between High and Bishop Streets; and 14th Street between Bishop and Marshall Streets. _' Page 2 SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby directed to assist and co-ordinate the efforts of the City with the efforts of the Housing Authority toward the end that the improvements contemplated in Section 1 hereof may be accomplished at the least possible expense to the City of Little Rock.
