5392k ORDINANCE 10. r2. 415 q. AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR PR OTEOTION OF HIGHWAY TRAVELERS AT CERTAIN RAILROAD CROSSINGS BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK: Section 1. The Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Railway Com- pany, or its Trustees in bankruptcy-, and their successors and assigns, are hereby authorized to construct and maintain electric flashlight dIOUIUC 4 gnalb at the. crossings of said railroad Street and East Fifteenth Street. Said signals shall consist of iron posts on concrete foundations on which are mounted standard arose- buck railroad crossing signs, indicating the number of tracks to be crossed, two lamp cases containing electric lights which flash red alternating thirty to forty -fire per minute when a train is approach- ing said crossing, and which are risible from either direction, and a sign reading "STOP ON RED SIGNAL ". An electric alarm bell will al- so be installed in connection with the signal at each crossing. Section 2. When said electric flashlight signals are construct- ,.v of and in operation at said crossings, or '.either of them, the satgs:T shall be in lieu of all other forms of protection which are requir- ed at said crossings and all ordinances in conflict herewith includ- ing those parts of Ordinance No. 3408 approved June 14, 1924, and Or- dinance No. 1408, approved March 23, 1908, applicable to said cross - ings are hereby repealed but said ordinances as to each crossing shall remain in full force and effect until said flashlight signals are installed and in operation at said crossings.
