3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
4 EXECUTE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS TO ACQUIRE RESIDENTAL
5 PROPERTY LOCATED AT 807 SOUTH VAN BUREN STREET TO BE
6 USED AS PARK PROPERTY FOR FUTURE WAR MEMORIAL PARK
7 DEVELOPMENT, FOR THE PURCHASE PRICE OF FORTY -FIVE
8 THOUSAND DOLLARS ($45,000.00); AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS, in October 2011, the Little Rock Board of Directors authorized the negotiation of the
11 sale of 3.82 acres of the City's interest in Ray Winder Field to the University of Arkansas for Medical
12 Services (UAMS) and committed to reinvesting the sale proceeds to the purchase of land in order to offset
13 the loss of City park acreage; and,
14 WHEREAS, the residential lot at 1015 Van Buren Street is one (1) of twelve (12) parcels identified
15 as being west of Jonesboro Drive and located south of Interstate 630, and these acquisitions by the City
16 will help to accommodate future park development that will complement the Central Arkansas Children's
17 Library; and,
18 WHEREAS, the acquisition of this property represents the third of the twelve (12) parcels to become
19 a part of the War Memorial Park acreage; and,
20 WHEREAS, the City has negotiated the purchase of the property at 1015 Van Buren Street for the
21 amount of Forty-Five Thousand Dollars ($45,000.00),
22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
23 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
24 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to execute appropriate
25 documents to acquire property at 807 South Van Buren Street for use as a public park for the future
26 expansion of War Memorial Park, for the amount of Forty-Five Thousand Dollars ($45,000.00).
27 Section 3. Funds for this purchase are available from the proceeds of the sale of the City's interest in
28 Ray Winder Field to the Board of Trustees of the University of Arkansas.
29 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
30 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
31 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
32 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
33 resolution.

Section 5. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent
with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
