3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH SHI INTERNATIONAL, IN THE AMOUNT
5 OF FOUR HUNDRED SIXTY -SEVEN THOUSAND, SIX HUNDRED
6 DOLLARS ($467,600.00), PLUS TAXES, FOR THE PURCHASE OF 1,400
7 MICROSOFT OFFICE 2013 LICENSES FOR THE LITTLE ROCK
8 INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT, UTILIZING THE
9 ARKANSAS STATE PURCHASING CONTRACT; AND FOR OTHER
10 PURPOSES.

12 WHEREAS, the majority of the current Microsoft licenses for the City's computers are Office 2003,
13 which are now three (3) versions behind what is currently available; and,
14 WHEREAS, it is necessary that all of the City's 1,400 computers be upgraded to Microsoft Office
15 2013 licenses in order to move all of the devices to the same Office platform.
16 WHEREAS, SHI International has submitted a quote of Four Hundred Sixty -Seven Thousand, Six
17 Hundred Dollars ($467,600.00) for the purchase of 1,400 Microsoft Office 2013 Licenses, by utilizing the
18 Arkansas State Purchasing Contract;
19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
20 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
21 Section 1: The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into a contract with
22 SHI for the purchase of 1,400 Microsoft Office 2013 Licenses, utilizing the Arkansas State Purchasing
23 Contract, for the amount of Four Hundred Sixty -Seven Thousand, Six Hundred Dollars ($467,600.00),
24 plus taxes.
25 Section 2. Funds for this purchase will come from the Information Technology Department's Capital
26 Sales Tax Funds, Account No. 326309- 72450- TS30A04.
27 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
28 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
29 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
30 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
31 resolution.
32 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent
33 with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
