82861 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 36 RESOLUTION NO. 8.286 A RESOLUTION TO SUPPORT ADOPTION OF A MILLAGE INCREASE FOR THE LITTLE ROCK PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT. 133 WHEREAS, the public policy of this City is to enhance the quality of life of all our citizens; and WHEREAS, the City through its government is investing resources in people, neighborhoods, economic development, and public infrastructure to this end; and WHEREAS, a strong, stable public education system is an important part of our City and is critical to the continued health of this Community; and WHEREAS, quality education for all children is a public policy which the Board of Directors strongly endorses. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1: The April 19th millage increase election offers an opportunity for the citizens of Little Rock to support the public schools at a critical time. Passage of the millage increase will permit continuing work on a plan for the schools which involves the citizens of Little Rock. SECTION 2: The Board of Directors encourages citizens to vote for the millage increase. The Board of Directors further encourages continuing citizen involvement with decisions concerning the public schools. The Board believes that passage of the millage will enhance the ability of the citizens of this Community to work together toward a strong public school system.
