7669FM M 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 36 RESOLUTION NO. 7,669 401 A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE STAFF MEMBERS OF THE LITTLE ROCK PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT AND THE CITY BEAUTIFUL COMMISSION FOR THEIR WORK AND DEDICATION ON THE BELVEDERE PROJECT; AND THAT THE TIME CAPSULE WHICH WAS SEALED ON OCTOBER 15, 1986 BE OPENED IN OCTOBER OF 2136. WHEREAS, the State of Arkansas in the year 1986 celebrated its sesquicentennial; and WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock celebrated the sesquicentennial by dedicating the commemorative Belvedere in Riverfront Park to businesses and institutitions in Little Rock in continuous operation for over 50 years; and WHEREAS, dedication ceremonies for the Belvedere were held on October 15, 1986, and a Time Capsule was sealed containing a guest book and reports and mementos for guests and honorees; and WHEREAS, the building of the Belvedere took extra ingenuity and hard work by many donors and the staff of the Little Rock Parks and Recreation Department and the City Beautiful Commission. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The Time Capsule will be opened by the City Parks Department at a ceremony to be held in Riverfront Park in October of 2136. SECTION 2. A copy of this resolution shall be distributed to members of the Parks and Recreation Department and the City Beautiful Commission in honor of their work. SECTION 4. This resolution shall be adopted and remain in full force and effect.
