A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
INTO CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS FOR THE PROVISION OF
ADDITIONAL 1999 SUMMER YOUTH RECREATION AND
EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMS IN LITTLE ROCK.

WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock has been committed to prevention, intervention and treatment
programs to enhance public safety, community- building, and youth development and,
WHEREAS, the PIT Advisory Group recommended the use of $350,000 funds from the 1998 PIT program
contracts for 1999 summer youth recreation and employment program contracts; and,
WHEREAS, additional funds have been allocated to this project to increase the number of programs that
will be available to provide summer recreation and employment programs to Little Rock; and,
WHEREAS, all proposals which received passing scores from the 1999 Summer Programs selection
committee has been recommended to the Little Rock Board of Directors for funding.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into contract negotiations with the following
organizations for the provision of 1999 summer youth programs in Little Rock.
1. Camp Aldersgate
$24,974
2. Ouachita Council Girl Scouts
$25,000
3. Children's Museum
$24,964
4. Catherine's House
$25,000
5. Little Rock School District
$25,000
6. Institute for Community Based Rehabilitation
$25,000
SECTION 2. The contracts' terms shall be from June 1, 1999 to September 1, 1999.
SECTION 3. Funding for these contracts shall not exceed $150,000 and shall come from funds remaining
from the 1998 PIT program contracts, funds remaining from the contract award for the Targeted Southwest Little
Rock Community Based Prevention Program, and other sources.
