HomeMy WebLinkAboutboa_12 18 1950MINUTES OF BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT December 18, 1950 The Board of Adjustment met in the Mayor's Conference Room, City Hall, on December 18, 1950, at 2:00 p.m., with the following members present. - Mr. Louis Tarlowski, Chairman Mr. W. H. Marak Mr. Bruce Anderson Mr. Warren Baldwin Mr. John P. DuVal, Planning Director *Docket No. 36-50 Kent Brown, 1019 No. Beech, described as Lot Sixteen (16), Block Eleven (11), Hillcrest Addition, zoned !A" One -Family District, requesting waiver of side yard requirements to permit erection of a car porte. This petition was approved on condition that the car porte be built not within three feet of the property line. Mr. Marak made the motion to this effect, seconded by Mr. Baldwin. The motion carried. *Docket No. 37--50 Rex C. Hall, 2112 No. Spruce, described as Lot Three (3) and south 181 of Lot Four (4), Block Six (6), Country Club Heights Addition, zoned "A" One Family District, requesting waiver of side yard requirements due to topography, to build a car ports. Mr. Marak made.a motion, seconded by Mr. Anderson, that this petition be approved as shown on the blueprint (built within four feet of the property line). The motion carried. *Docket 'No. 38-50 Rasp B. Barker, 1624 Woodrow, described as Lot Nine (9), Block Ten (10), Johnson's Addition, zoned "B" Residence District, requesting permission to make structural alterations closing in porch on existing grocery. This petition was approved by unanimous agreement. !W40 *Docket No. 39-50 Dr. W. C. Langston, 2929 Lee Avenue, described as Lot Eight (8), Block One (1), Midland Hills Addition, zoned "B" Residence District, requesting waiver of yard space requirements to permit construction of car ports. Dr. Langston was present to explain his petition. The matter of the property line was discussed. Mr. Marak made a motion, seconded by Mr. Anderson, that this petition be approved on condition that the car porte be built no closer than two feet to the property line. The motion carried. *Docket No. 40-50 Mrs. Lola Martin,,3200 Fairpark Boulevard, described as Lot Three (3), Block Eighteen (18), C. 0. Brack Addition, zoned "B" Residence, requesting waiver of yard space requirements, in order to make addition to existing building. Mr. Anderson made a motion, seconded by Mr. Marak, that the petition be approved. The motion carried. *Docket No. 41-50 Jack R. Tucker, 1901 Main, described as Lot One (1) and north one-half of Lot Two (2), Block 1,.23, DuValls Addition, zoned "D" Apartment, requesting waiver of yard space requirements, to permit use of existing building for commercial purposes. Mr. Baldwin made a motion, seconded by Mr. Marak, that the petition be approved. The motion carried. The question was brought up in regard to having a meeting of the Board of Adjustment less often than once a month. It was agreed that a monthly meeting was satisfactory to all members.
