BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
November 20, 1950
The Board of Adjustment met in the Mayor's Conference Room, City Hall,
on November 20, 1950, at 2:00 p.m., with the following members present: -
Mr. W. H. Marak, Chairman
Mr. Louis Tarlowski
Miss Emily Penton
*Docket No. 32-50 Broadway Baptist Church, 2217-21-23 Broadway,
Described as Lots 4,5,6, Block 18, Fulton's Addition, Zoned ttC"
Two Family; requesting waiver of yard space requirements so as to
permit construction of Baptist Church.
Mr. Paul Bernard, Attorney, was present to explain the petition.
He stated that all the neighbors were satisfied, and that all had signed
a notice to that effect, with the exception of one owner who now resides
in New Orleans.
Mr. Marak made a motion, seconded by Miss Penton, that the petition
be approved. The motion carried.
*Docket No. 33-50 H. H. Green, 5410 Southwood, described as
Lot 206, Prospect Terrace Addition, Zoned "A" One -Family; requesting
waiver of side yard space requirements so as to permit construction
of car porte on the west side of home.
Mr. Green was present, and stated that his nearest neighbor, Mr.
Ashbaugh, did not object to the construction of the car ports. There
were no protestors.
The motion was made and secondedthat this petition be approved. The
motion carried.
*Docket No. 34-50 R. M. Traylor, 701 East Roosevelt Road,
described as Lot 2, Rapley Estate, Zoned"B't Residence; requesting
permission to erect a tourist court.
No one was present to explain the petition, but the Board went
ahead and took the matter under consideration. Mr. Marak thought the
proposed tourist court would be an improvement to the neighborhood, and
Mr. Tarlowski agreed. Mr. Tarlowski stated that the Veteran's Administration
was in favor of this project, since these courts could be rented to nurses
and also could be rented to the families of the patients in the hospital.
Mr. Marak made a motion, seconded by Mr. Tarlowski, that the petition
be approved. The motion carried.

*Docket No. 35-50 J. E Cherry, 2610 Fairpark Blvd., described
as Lot 6, Block 59, Cherry & Cox Addition, Zoned "'B" Residence;
requesting permission to erect a one -family residence on front
Of lot.
This petition was referred to the Board of Adjustment by the
Zoning sub -committee, on November 17, 1950.
The motion was made and seconded that this petition be approved.
The motion carried.
There being no further business, the board adjourned.
