OF THE
BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
September 18, 1950
The Board of Adjustment met in the Mayor's Conference Room, Monday'
September 181, 1950 at 2:00 PoM, with the following members present:
Mr. Louis Tarlowski, Chairman Mr. Bruce Anderson
Miss Emily Penton Mr. Warren Baldwin
Docket No. 29-50 Central Baptist Church, 907-919 Vest Markham,
described as the East 100' of Lots 1,2, and 3, West 751 of Lots 10,
11, and 12, Block 276, Original City, Zoned "G" Commercial; requesting
waiver of rear yard space requirements.
Brother Moser, pastor of the Church, was present to represent the
application. He stated the annex which he wished to build to the Church
would be a fire proof building with concrete floor. The property owners
on the back side have garages that are a fire hazard, They would like to
have a sound fire proof wall built to eliminate the'fire hazard. He ex—
plained that this would cut off light and air.
Mr. Anderson made the suggestion that windows approved by the National
Board of Tire Underwfiters be used.
Mr. Cazort -was present to make a friendly comment that his objection was
the fire hazard of the garages to the church. He was agreeable to the
suggestion made by Mr. Anderson.
Mr. Baldwin made the motion, seconded by Mr. Anderson, that the applica—
tion be granted on the condition that labeled windows be used as approved
by the NBFU. This motion carried,
Docket No. 30-50 George A. Hilliard, 1610 West 16th Street, described as
the West 65' of Lot 7, Block 24, Centennial Addition, Zoned "C" Two —Family;
requesting waiver of lot area and front and rear yard space requirements.
There was no one present to represent this application. The waivers were
necessary in order to add two small bedrooms to the side of the house.'
Mr. Baldwin made the motion, seconded by Miss Penton, that the application
be approved, The motion carried.
