HomeMy WebLinkAboutboa_07 17 1950MINUTES OF BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT July 17, 1950 The Board of Adjustment met in the Mayor's Conference Room, Mondays July 17, 1950 at 2s00 P.M. with the Following members presents Mr. W. H. Marak, Chairman Mr. Louis Tarlowski Mr. Warren Baldwin Mr. Marion Butz, Act. Director Docket No. 22-50 William E. Headrick, 4100 Kenyon Street, described as Lots 2L+ and 25, Block 16, Hillcrest Additions Zoned "All One Family., requesting waiver of rear yard space requirements so as to construct a one family residence on the above mentioned lots. Mr. & Mrs. Headrick were both present. They plan to have a garage on the back of the house. The Board asked if he would like to get a 51 waiver also on his front yards thereby setting back 201 from the front property line. Mr. & Mrs. Headrick both stated this would please them, and would save them some money as there is a slope in the land. There were no objectors to the application. Mr. Tarlowski made the motion, seconded by Mr. Baldwin that the application be granted, amending it to include a 51 waiver in the front yard. The motion carried. Docket No, 25-50 Westover Hills Presbyterian Church by Thomas T. Ramsey, Trustee, Northwest corner Kavanaugh 8- McYinley , described as Lots A, 20., and 21, Westover Hills Additions Lots 20 Zoned "A'! -One —Family and Lots A and 21 Zoned "F" Commercials requesting waiver of rear yard space requirements so as to permit construction of an educational addition. Mr. Ramsey was present to represent the petition. Mr. Cato was presents stating that he felt the construction w—ild cut off his rear view. This was not considered a serious objection by the Board. Mr. Tarlowski made the motions seconded by Mr. Baldwin., that the application be granted. The motion carried. Docket No. 20-50 E. D. Henderson, 2307 North Beeehs described as Lot 18, Block 11, Country Club Heights Addition, Zoned "A" One Family., requesting waiver of side yard requirements. This application was up before the Board in Junes but no decision was reached; therefore it was post—poned until the July meeting. Mr. Henderson was present to represent his application and Mr. & Mrs. Heman were present objectii*the waiver. Mr. Marak wanted to know if any changes had been made since the last meeting. Mr. Henderson stated he had talked with Pairs. Heman who was not in favor of any waivers. mm Mr. Tarlowski wanted to know how far Mrs. gets building is r m,the side property line. She stated it was about 211 but she intended adding to her home on this side lgt,,6r . She 'stated that waiving the side yard for Mr. Henderson woaq decrease the value of her home., Mr. Butz wanted toknow if it were necessary for the 101 drivewag, as a 71' driveway is considered sufficient. Mr. Baldwin wanted to know if the driveway could be reversed and be on the side -next to Mrs. Heman, Mr. Henderson stated this could be done, but he pre— ferred it the war he had planned it. After some discussion, Mr. Baldwin made the motions seconded by Mr. Tarlowskit that the kitchen be constructed 51 from the side line and the main portion of home *f from the side line. The motion carried. Mr. Marak then told the Board that it was time to elect officers, Mr. Baldwin made the motion that Mr. Tarlowski be elected ghairman„ Mr, Tarlowski nominated Mr. Bruce Anderson for the Vice -Chairman.
