BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
April 17, 1950
The Board of Adjustment met in the Council Chamber, Monday, April 17, 1950
at 2:00 P.M. with the following members present:
Mr. Warren Baldwin Mr. Marion Butz,
Mr. Bruce Anderson Acting Director
A quorum was not present; therefore it was impossible to take any action on
the applications. Mr. Baldwin acted as chairman in the absence of Mr. Marak.
He told the people present that we would have the -hearing and later contact
the full commission and take final action.
The first application was Docket No. 15-50, Jack Kavanaugh, property situated
at West Side of Tdildwood Road between Ed-ewood and 11011, described as Lots
231-235 inclusive &, Outlot "B", Zoned "A" One -Family in Prospect Terrace -"3
Addition; requesting variation from the front set back provisions and the
side yard space requirements.
G Mr. Bollinger, in opposition to the application, asked that the hearing be
postponed until a quorum could be present. This was granted and both sides
concerned were told that they would be notified of the date of the hearing.
63�TIlr. Albert Beggs would be notified as the owner, and Mr. Bollinger would be
notified as the objector. They in turn could notify any others they wished
to.
The next application was Docket No. 14-50, V. 0. Purvis, Jr., Chairman of
Building Commission, Immanuel Baptist Church, 1000 Bishon Street, described
as Lots 1,2,3,9,10,11,12 and North 501 of 6, Block 3, ','austs Addition, Zoned
"C" Two Family; requesting waiver of front, side and rear yard requirements.
Mr. Purvis was present and explained to the Board that part of the building
was to be two stories and part of it was to be three stories. The side property
line is to be 813" and the front is to be set back 2t from -the property line.
Mrs. Fairchild was present in opposition to the application. Her main objection
was the front property set back. She also objected to the building being two
and three stories high as she said she was told it was to be a one story building.
It was decided that these parties would also come back at a later date when a
quorum was present. We are to notify Mrs. Fairchild, .':_'hone 3-6306 and Mr. Purvis,
11'hone 2-2236.
The meeting was then adjourned.
