15486 1 RESOLUTION NO. 15,486 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH TEECO SAFETY,IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT 5 OF THREE HUNDRED SIX THOUSAND,FIVE HUNDRED FORTY-NINE 6 AND 42/100 DOLLARS ($306,549.42), FOR THE PURCHASE OF 7 BALLISTIC VESTS FOR THE LITTLE ROCK POLICE DEPARTMENT; 8 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS, it is critical that the Little Rock Police Department ("LRPD") be equipped and trained 11 with reliable tools and equipment; and, 12 WHEREAS,LRPD has a need to replace the Ballistic Vests purchased in 2016 due to safety expiration; 13 and, 14 WHEREAS,the Quartermaster,in conjunction with Teeco Safety,completed a vest fitting process for 15 210 replacement Vests,Exterior Vest Carriers and Rifle Grade Protection Plates for the Vests at a total cost 16 of Three Hundred Six Thousand, Five Hundred Forty-Nine and 42/100 Dollars($306,549.42); and, 17 WHEREAS, Vendor selection of National Association of State Procurement Officials (NASPO) 18 Purchasing Agreement. 19 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 20 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 21 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with Teeco Safety for the purchase 22 of replacement Vests,Exterior Vest Carriers and Rifle Grade Protection Plates for the Vests at a total cost 23 of Three Hundred Six Thousand,Five Hundred Forty-Nine and 42/100 Dollars($306,549.42). 24 Section 2. Funding for this purchase is available from the Little Rock Police Department's Budget, 25 with One Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($150,000.00) to be paid from the Helicopter Fund and the 26 remaining from the Federal Asset Forfeiture Funds. 27 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 28 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 29 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 30 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 31 resolution. 32 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances,resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with 33 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
