3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH FISHNET SECURITY, IN THE AMOUNT
5 OF EIGHTY-EIGHT THOUSAND, THREE HUNDRED SEVENTY TWO
6 AND 67/100 DOLLARS ($88,372.67), FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF
7 CHECKPOINT HARDWARE, LICENSES AND SUPPORT FOR NEXT
8 GENERATION FIREWALLS AND FIREWALLS FOR BROADBAND
9 LOCATIONS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

11 WHEREAS, the Information Technology Department issued an Request for Proposal (RFP) for the
12 purchase of CheckPoint Firewalls Equipment, licenses and support for both the City's data centers and the
13 sixty-two(62)broadband locations; and,
14 WHEREAS, these firewalls and licenses are required to support the City's secure use of the City
15 network and to support the users at remote locations, such as Neighborhood Resource Centers, Fire
16 Stations and Parks locations; and,
17 WHEREAS, Fishnet Security was the only responder to the RFP with a proposal of Eighty-Eight
18 Thousand, Three Hundred Seventy-Two and 67/100 Dollars ($88,372.67) to provide the firewall
19 equipment, licenses and support, and they are the current holder of the contract for maintenance and
20 support with the City; and,
21 WHEREAS, the Information Technology Department requires a Platinum Level CheckPoint partner
22 to provide support, and Fishnet meets that requirement.
23 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
24 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
25 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract in the amount of Eighty-Eight
26 Thousand, Three Hundred Seventy-Two and 67/100 Dollars ($88,372.67) with Fishnet Security for the
27 purchase of CheckPoint firewalls equipment, licenses and support for the City's data centers and sixty-
28 two(62)broadband locations.
29 Section 2. Funds for this purchase are available from Information Technology Operational Sales Tax
30 Account 103001-72400.
31 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
32 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
33 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and

1 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
2 resolution.
3 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent
4 with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
