3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH SANTEX TRUCK CENTERS, LTD., FOR
5 THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) ASPHALT PATCHING TRUCK CHASSIS,
6 IN THE AMOUNT OF SEVENTY-SIX THOUSAND, NINE HUNDRED
7 FIVE DOLLARS ($76,905.00), AND WITH BERGKAMP, INC., FOR THE
8 PURCHASE OF ONE (1) ASPHALT PATCHER UNIT, IN THE AMOUNT
9 OF EIGHTY-TWO THOUSAND, FOUR HUNDRED THIRTEEN
10 DOLLARS ($82,413.00), FOR A TOTAL UNIT COST OF ONE HUNDRED
11 FIFTY-NINE THOUSAND, THREE HUNDRED EIGHTEEN DOLLARS
12 ($159,318.00), BY UTILIZING THE HOUSTON-GALVESTON AREA
13 COUNCIL PURCHASING COOPERATIVE; AND FOR OTHER
14 PURPOSES.

16 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Public Works Department needs one (1) Asphalt Pot -Hole Patching
17 Truck to replace a 2002 model with excessive maintenance expenses and down-time; and,
18 WHEREAS, the Fleet Services Department utilized the Houston -Galveston Area Council (HGAC)
19 Purchasing Cooperative to determine that Santex Truck Centers, Ltd., would provide optimal pricing and
20 delivery options for the purchase of the Asphalt Patching Truck Chassis and that Santex Truck Centers,
21 Ltd., would provide optimal pricing and delivery options for the purchase of the Asphalt Patcher Unit;
22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
23 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
24 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into a contract with
25 Santex Truck Centers, Ltd., for the purchase of one (1) Asphalt Patching Truck Chassis, in the amount of
26 Seventy -Six Thousand, Nine Hundred Five Dollars ($76,905.00), and with Bergkamp, Inc., for the
27 purchase of one (1) Asphalt Pot -Hole Patcher Unit, in the amount of Eighty -Two Thousand, Four
28 Hundred Thirteen Dollars ($82,413.00), for a total unit cost of One Hundred Fifty -Nine, Three Hundred
29 Eighteen Dollars ($159,318.00), by utilizing the Houston Galveston Area Council (HGAC) Cooperative
30 Purchasing Agreement,
31 Section 2. Funds for this purchase are allocated in the FEMA Disaster Fund.
32 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
33 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or

1 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
resolution.
Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent
with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
