3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO
4 INCREASE TO THE CURRENT CONTRACT AMOUNT WITH
5 REDSTONE CONSTRUCTION GROUP, INC., FOR THE MARTIN
6 LUTHER KING, JR., DRIVE DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT;
7 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS, bids were solicited for the construction of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Drive Drainage
10 Improvements, Bid No. 14-118; and,
11 WHEREAS, the City Manager has entered into an agreement with Redstone Construction Group,
12 Inc., for the construction project in the initial amount of Fifty -Four Thousand, Four Hundred Twenty -
13 Nine and 10/100 Dollars ($54,429.10); and,
14 WHEREAS, due to unanticipated subsurface site conditions, additional contingency funding is need
15 to complete the improvements and the initial project purpose;
16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
17 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
18 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to increase the current authorized amount of the
19 construction contract with Redstone Construction Group, Inc., for Dr. Martin Luther King Drive Drainage
20 Improvements.
21 Section 2. Funding for this project is available from the Ys -Cent Capital Improvement Sales and Use
22 Tax Funds as authorized by Resolution No. 13,699. Revised amount for construction services is Sixty
23 Five Thousand Dollars ($65,000.00), which is an increase of Ten Thousand, Fifty Hundred Seventy and
24 90/100 Dollars ($10,570.90) from the original authorized amount of Fifty -Four Thousand, Four Hundred
25 Twenty -Nine Thousand and 10/100 Dollars ($54,429.10) as set forth in Resolution No. 13,879.
26 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
27 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
28 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
29 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
30 resolution.
31 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent with
32 the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
33 Section 5. This resolution will be in full force and effect from and after the date of its adoption.
